Jasper: We were there...

24/05/2010

At the annual convention of AWMAC Jasper, our members were there.

Indeed, several were at the rendezvous and we soon attracted attention to our French-speaking group.

The brave from Quebec to face the cold weather in the Canadian Rockies: Marc Pepin from Meubles Busch, Michael Percy, Gaétan Malo and Yves Demers from Installations Newtech; Ghislain Jacques and Normand Deschênes from Portes Baillargeon; Yvon Mayrand from Commonwealth distribution and Patrick Laurin from Husky plywood were present, some with their spouses.
Approximately 13 presences out of +/-160 in total. A good average, which compares with the rest of this association.

We are particularly well received in this part of the country, and active minds and competitive spirits are rapidly replaced by a common spirit of brotherhood quite particular to AWMAC.

We have received many comments from members of AWMAC hoping all see a convention held in Quebec within the next 6 years.

I am very happy with the turn of events. I call to all those who wish to engage in organizing such an event.

Thank you again to all,

Jasper May 2010

08/02/2010

In spring 2010 in Jasper-AB more than 100 members, often accompanied, have an appointment for an annual meeting to socialize, communicate and work together to promote our industry and contribute to the prosperity of all .

Activities are diverse ... Superb Site near Jasper in northern Alberta, Golf Tournament, Seminars, Trade Show, Program for wives; BBQ at Trefoil Lake; Annual General Meeting (for delegates), White Water Rafting; President's Ball.

A unique experience, but also a significant presence to see how our industry is doing elsewhere in the country, good and bad shots. In short, you must be there!

See info and registration form to: http://www.awmac.com/conventions.php

Looking forward to seeing you in Jasper.

AWMAC-QUEBEC; January 2010, Recrutement month

19/01/2010

The new year is always accompanied by new goals! January is the month of recruitment for AWMAC Quebec. If you are not yet a member of AWMAC Quebec, this is the best time to join. By becoming a member for only $ 1,200 a year, you will get to start with, the AWMAC AWS-manual (Architectural Woodwork Standard)

The association has many projects and offers the opportunity to share all the benefits there to.  An important benefit of membership is the opportunity to share and exchange information with other industry members and participate in its development.

Each member can find his personal profit with the strength of a group such as the AWMAC.

The strength of an association is measured by the number of such members.

Quebec Chapter takes off.

19/10/2009

As such, the various committees organized to put in motion the priority activities of the Association.
The GIS Committee (original version Inspection Program and Guarantee) initiates not with an agreement a year renewable with the Ontario Chapter to use their GIS program here in Quebec until we have established a program in Quebec.
We are also looking for candidates for the post of inspector. You may get in touch with any member of the Committee for the candidate profile if you know someone who may be interested and interesting.
The National Committee has developed a questionnaire to + / -600 questions for everyone to review and validate their knowledge of manual AWS. This questionnaire (in English only, because the manual is English for now) can review each chapter and thus cover the entire manual. A tool for all.
We are available for any questions.
