AWMAC Manitoba will be participating as an exhibitor at the 4th Annual Career Expo being presented by the Winnipeg Construction Association at Red River Exhibition Park.

WCA is committed to ensuring that future generations fully understand the skilled trade opportunities in Manitoba construction. Through the WCA-hosted Manitoba Construction Career Expo in May, young people are exposed to various careers in construction and given the unique opportunity to try each trade for themselves. The Expo includes everything from hands-on demonstrations in masonry, carpentry, roofing, concrete finishing, electrical wiring and painting, among others, to displays featuring the biggest and best in construction equipment and transportation. Students have a chance to interact with skilled journeypeople and apprentices and learn more about Manitoba’s current construction industry from leading construction companies and trade associations. The AWMAC Manitoba Chapter golf tournament took place on June 7th at Bridges Golf & Country Club. The weather was beautiful reaching a high of 30 deg C. It appeared that all of the 80 participants enjoyed their time in the sun and away from the office. The Chapter would like to express our thanks to the tournament organizer Chris Urniezius  from White-Wood Distribution for all his time & effort organizing this event.

We would like to thank those sponsors that provided the bus service to and from the tournament: FC Machinery, Finmac Lumber, Formations, Hardwoods, Progress Express, Richelieu, Tafisa and White -Wood.

We would also thank the prize donors for their contributions: Finmac Lumber, Formations, Hardwoods, Hettich, McKillican, Richelieu, Robert Bury & White-Wood.

Lastly we would like to acknowledge those Manufacture Members that really stepped up at the last minute and added there own twist to our tournament: F.C. WoodWorks, Quality Design, RJ Millwork and Western Millwork. There wasn't a  participant out there that didn't want to drive away in the Cadillac CTS that R.J. Millwork was giving away with their hole in one contest.
